Our 1st Big Scare

I'm finally out for summer....so let the blogging begin. LOL. I finished my Ed.S and now I actually have free time! A couple of days ago my world was turned upside down when I heard from our agency. They said that one of Lily's birth parents had disappeared. None of the family knew where they were.....and the duties requested by the judge were not completed. This individual has had since April 25th to do one thing......a FREE homestudy. We did not know when our case would start moving again.....our adoption had actually been put on hold. So what did we do? Cried.....and PRAYED! I actually prayed out loud in the shower. I told Satan he was NOT going to win this one. I went to bed listening to Psalm 18 (which is amazing btw). The LORD is my ROCK, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies. Psalms 18:2-3. Please read the whole chapter...MAN it's awesome! Anyway...within 24 hours I got word that the courts of Taiwan had all they needed to make a decision on Lily's adoption case. So did the family member finally show up?????? I don't know....but I do know that GOD moved! He is GOOD ALL THE TIME. We are now waiting on a decree!!!!!! I am praying specifically to get that this week:). I am so relieved and so happy that our adoption is not being put on hold and that our baby girl will be in our arms soon. She is so precious! We have been able to skype with her 4 or 5 times.......everytime was incredible. The first time she saw me I said-" Hi baby girl....I"m your mommy!"....and she smiled SO BIG! She just melts my heart. I am going to try to post some pics and videos! They rarely post right for some reason....so here goes! Oh BTW...Lily bug turned 5 months this week!!!!!! I have enjoyed getting emails from people around the world who are interested in international adoption. Please feel free to email me anytime! I may not have all the answers, but I will certainly do the best I can!!!!  Blessings, Emily

  4. Hello! We our adopting through the New Hope program. I believe it is in Taichung but we will fly into Taipei. I am so grateful I found your blog! It is nice to find someone going through the process in the present. What timeframe did your agency quote you? We are waiting for our civil ruling and hope to receive it soon. I thought after that it would be 6 to 8 weeks until travel however my caseworker told me it could be 2 to 4 months between civil to final ruling. Seems really long to me. They did say it could be faster but to expect at least two months.
